Rescue Me ID: 16-01-08-00297ROSCOE (male)

Dutch Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Very High Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

He was saved from a high kill shelter in West Virginia, with no other background information. He is now neutered, UTD on all vaccines, house trained, and crate trained. He walks well on a leash (I do choose to use harnesses), he gets along fabulously with other dogs, big or small, although he's never been with females since we've had him, and is PHENOMENAL with my kids ages 13, 8 and 5. He has no fear of men over women, and vice versa, & has no food or toy aggression, again my kids can take things off of him. He is an easy keep regarding food & weight and rides well in a car. Crowds of people don't bother him, nor do loud noises. He does ... (Read More)however have SEVERE separation anxiety. If given the chance he's a runner and doesn't come back when he's called. He DESPERATELY needs a job to do. If he is bored he is destructive. He needs something to do with his mind other than just be a house dog or family pet. When he's put in the back yard with my other dog they play, he takes care of business, and then he runs my boxer non-stop ragged to exhaustion. When I separate them he howls and digs. To the point of digging up my french drain, tearing down a brick wall and digging 6 inch deep ravines around fence posts. I know it's because he's bored. But unfortunately we're a busy family. He's an awesome dog who deserves alot more than we can give him. I don't want to take him to a pound or back to the shelter he came from because he'll end up bounced around some more to another family, the wrong kind of family, and then shuffled along some more. He's a great dog who needs more than the average dog owner can give him. (Less)

Dutch Shepherd Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Vaccinations Current

Cinnamon truly is a testament to the power of this village when it comes together! Cinnamon is a shepherd mix, she was surrendered to the shelter from the only home she ever knew for ten years when her elderly owner became too ill to care for her. This sweet gentle soul did not belong in a shelter! Dog Town was thankfully able to rescue her with just minutes left in the full shelter. Cinnamon is such an incredible people dog. She is so gentle and friendly with everyone she meets! She would do really well in a quieter home where she can relax and live out the rest of her days in the lap of luxury. While Cinnamon doesn't mind hanging with ... (Read More)the pups at Dog Town, she might prefer all of the attention for herself in a forever home. Stop in to meet this old soul today! (Less)
