Dutch Shepherds have a happy disposition and are friendly and affectionate. Dutch Shepherds are loyal, protective, and obedient. Dutch Shepherds are good companions for children and make wonderful guard dogs and watchdogs. Dutch Shepherds will stop intruders but will welcome people they know. Dutch Shepherds do fine in cold weather and can adapt to apartment life if they get plenty of regular exercise.

Dutch Shepherds are considered multipurpose working dogs. Dutch Shepherds are related to and similar to German Shepherds. Dutch Shepherds are very rare outside of Holland.
